Every Occavia invitation comes with a shared album and a photo link of its own. The link opens an upload page in any phone browser; the printable QR poster and the QR in the corner of the live wall both point at it. Guests choose photos from their gallery or take new ones with the camera, add a caption if they like, and upload — full-resolution photos and long video clips included, with big uploads cut into parts that retry on their own, so venue wifi is not the enemy.
Uploads land in your dashboard first. The album is private by default: only people holding the photo link see it, and you decide whether to open it to everyone with the invitation, to hold new photos for review before they show, or to keep the whole wall dark until a reveal moment. It comes with the wedding invitation and the birthday invitation alike, alongside the online RSVP and the digital guestbook.
How it works
Print the QR poster
Your dashboard has a Print poster button: a ready page with your names, the date, the venue and a large QR code that carries the upload link. Print it for the tables and the welcome sign, or download the QR alone as an SVG and put it on your own cards — the free QR code generator does the same for any other link.
Guests scan and upload
A guest points the phone camera at the code, lands on the upload page and adds photos and videos from the gallery or the camera — several at once, with an optional name and caption. Nothing to install, no account, and no RSVP required.
The wall fills up live
Every upload appears on the shared wall, which refreshes itself, and on the projector view for the venue screen. Guests react with emoji and leave comments, and photo challenges you set give them prompts to capture.
You keep the originals
From your dashboard you approve, delete, pause uploads or set a reveal moment, and one button downloads every original in a single ZIP — the full-quality files, not compressed copies.
What guests see
Guests never leave their browser. The upload page shows your names, an upload button that opens the gallery, a camera button for a fresh shot, and the prompts of any photo challenges you set. While a file uploads they see the progress; afterwards their own photos are listed with a Save button, because a photo taken with the in-page camera exists nowhere else.
On the invitation itself, guests who have replied yes see the photo wall once you have opened the album to everyone — photos and videos newest first, with captions, reactions and comments. If you have set a reveal moment, the wall shows a Still developing notice and switches to the photos by itself at the chosen time, with no reload. Guests react and comment from the photo link; they cannot download other guests' photos or delete anything, and the page is kept out of search engines.
What you see
Your dashboard's gallery card shows every upload, newest first, with the uploader's name and caption where given, a filter per photo challenge, and each photo's reactions and comments, read-only. Four controls sit at the top. Album visibility flips the wall between private — the default, visible only through the photo link — and public for everyone who opened the invitation and replied yes. Uploads open or paused stops the printed QR from accepting new files after the party, or mid-party if something unwanted arrives, without hiding what is already there. Review holds every new upload until you approve it, and the guest sees an awaiting-approval note. Reveal moment sets the date and time before which the wall shows nothing, however much has been uploaded — enforced on the server, not in the browser, so it cannot be peeked at.
Any single photo can be deleted or downloaded, and Download all builds one ZIP of the originals. Co-hosts you add can moderate and manage the album; the full download stays with you.

Big files, resumable uploads
Full-resolution photos from a real camera and long video clips go up as they are. Large uploads travel in parts that retry on their own, so a dropped signal costs one part, not the whole evening.

Privacy, moderation and control
The album belongs to the two of you. New uploads land in your dashboard whether the wall is public or private, and three switches decide what guests see: album visibility, review before showing, and the reveal moment. Pausing uploads shuts the door on a printed QR that cannot be un-printed; viewing continues. Any photo can be removed in a tap and is deleted from storage, not just hidden. Guests add a name and caption only if they want to, and nothing on the page asks them to log in, so no guest data is collected beyond what they choose to type.
How long the photos are kept
Guest photos and videos are kept for six months after your event date — long enough for the honeymoon and for the guests who keep uploading for weeks. Thirty days before the end of that window you receive an email with a link to your dashboard and its Download all button, so nothing is removed without notice; an event without a date is never cleared. Written wishes in the guestbook are kept regardless; only their attached recordings follow the same window. Download your ZIP as soon as the party is over and the album is yours for good.
